  1. SETTING-UP PROCESS

Permissions

Properly assigned permissions are necessary for users to have a good experience with the app. Learn below, what needs to be configured.

Permissions define the capabilities of the users within the app and need to be properly adjusted in order for the add-on to work properly.

ATM Admins

Admins in ATM have the ability to configure the app. They have the access to the Testing Hub and within it, they can create testing setups, edit them and add environments. Admins also have to remember to give appropriate permissions to other team members, so that the app functions as it was designed.

ATM Users

Users in ATM are members of the testing team with limited permissions, who are able to access Reports in a Testing Hub, but do not configure the Testing Setup. In order for the app to work properly, users need following permissions in the projects selected in the configuration of the Testing Setup:

  • Browse work items - to be able to see the testing elements such as Test Cases, Test Executions, etc.

  • Create work items - to create new testing elements

  • Edit - to edit work items or app custom fields

  • Link work items - to link items such as Requirements and Test Cases

At this moment, for any searches within the app, we respect the user permissions.
