Space Templates

In the Space configuration, you’re able to create new template which will be available for users to use it as a macro on their Confluence pages in selected space.

This template will be available only for Confluence pages in this space. To use it in other spaces, you have to create a new one in the target space. If it is possible, we recommend you to create cross-spaces templates in the global configuration.

How to create a space template?

Steps

For all of the following procedures, you must be logged in as a user with the Confluence Administrator space permission.

  1. Log in to your Confluence instance.

  2. Go to the space in which you want to configure template.

  3. Choose cog icon ⚙️ (Space Settings) on the left panel.

  4. Select Add-ons > Content Template Macro.

  5. Click Add new template.

  6. Configure template settings by editing the following fields:

    1. Template name: Type the name of your template which help users to identify the content of it quickly (for example: Company footer). This field is required.

    2. Description: Type a short description of your template.

  7. Type the content of this template. You can select beetween Classic editor and HTML editor.

  8. Click Save to save the template.

Result

New template has been added to the list. You can edit it by clicking Edit on the particular template. To remove one, click Delete.

Changes which are made during Edit mode will affect on all macros which have been added to the pages.

Deleting a template clears the macro content on published Confluence pages.
